Emily Altman is a New York City based comedy writer and performer. She has been writing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre since 2010 on the award winning house sketch team Onassis.
Emily has also written and performed in dozens of shows around New York City and beyond, including The Same SexTacular (UCB), Kathy and Emily Are: Total Sweethearts (The People’s Improv Theater) and Gentleman Caller (The People’s Improv Theater, Boston Improv Festival). She’s the creator (along with Kathy Salerno and Abra Tabak) of the webseries Watchin’ Downton, which has been featured by New York Magazine, NPR, Papermag, and the Sundance Channel. She has also written for Jest.com and CollegeHumor.com.
When not writing, performing, or teaching Sketch Writing at UCB, Emily can be found teaching Italian at the State University of New York: F.I.T , doing the clichèd “Italian Professor by day, Sketch Comedienne by Night” thing.
